Wonders of the Universe

Underneath the pale moonlight
the north star Polaris shines so bright
 growing brighter still past twilight.
Stars in the constellations gaze on
even in the mighty warrior Orion
watching supernovas burn in an explosion.
Late at night we watch in awe as a falling star
descends, making a crater from its path so stellular
passing through the magnificent nebula from afar.
Sitting and wondering where do things go
when the black hole sucks them from the cosmo
and we are left to ponder down here below.
